How it started
It began with one district, not a national launch.
Destinify started in Malabar, in northern Kerala — a part of the country with an enormous amount worth seeing and almost none of it written down anywhere useful. If you wanted to know how long the drive took, what the entry cost was, or whether the trek was doable before lunch, you asked someone who’d been.
So we started there, on foot, filling in the details nobody had bothered to record. That is still where our coverage runs deepest, and it set the standard for everywhere since: a place only goes in when there is something genuinely useful to say about it.
The map has been opening up across the rest of India since — region by region rather than all at once, for the same reason. Breadth is easy to fake. Depth isn’t.
